Snail Games has announced its upcoming multiplayer online battle arena game, King of Wushu, coming to the Xbox One and PC platforms.

King of Wushu is an attempt to infuse the traditional five-on-five battleground challenges with some Chinese martial arts, and judging by the trailer, the game is about having the most numbers floating around your screen.

The game is being developed by the same studio that created Age of Wushu, the martial arts-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game, and is built on CryEngine 3, featuring stylized graphics in a full 3D environment.

The game mixes various massively multiplayer online game elements with third-person shooter mechanics, offering an intense, action-packed MOBA experience.

King of Wushu takes place in the wake of the demise of a great emperor. During the chaotic days that follow, the greatest martial arts champions gathered from all across the land to demonstrate their power and skills, and the arena is their main means of becoming the King of Wushu.

The game pits players in 5-versus-5 matches across a traditional, lane-based map, with the objective to destroy the enemy base while defending their own, making use of a wide array of martial arts-inspired abilities, and an action combat system that includes dodges, jumping, and attack combos.
