Neocore Games, the developers of King Arthur – the Role Playing Wargame, have released two packs of downloadable content for their latest title, which aims to combine real time tactical battles with strategic turn based moves and management and with character development related to the Knights of the Round Table.

Since its release, the title also received three patches, which made the playing experience smoother and took out some of the difficulty spikes that affected the middle part of the game. The DLC packs can each be obtained for 1.99 dollars from the Steam digital distribution service.

The Legendary Artifacts DLC introduces three new sets of unique items, each of them tied to a particular type of hero, the Sage, the Warlord and the Champion. There are nine new battle missions that must be completed to get them and the developers are warning that they will not be easy. Unfortunately, there are no clear details on the bonuses given out by each of the above mentioned sets.

The Knights and Vassals DLC is more substantial, making two new Knights of the Round Table and four new types of units available to the player. After the Lady of the Lake is met, the game offers recruitment options for Briton Archers, who are melee capable, and Briton Cavalry, who ride into battle with very heavy armor. After taking Norfolk, the player also gets Saxon Knights and Welsh Pikemen.

The two new Knights of the Round Table that join the player after the creation of the initial Stronghold are: Sir Alymere, described as “destined to be a great champion and indeed, he became one of the most respected wandering knights,” and Sir Lucan, who “was a regular participant of the royal tournaments and bravely defended the lands of his family during the chaotic times after the Miracle.”
