Kinetic is a UK-based IT solution provider that has just unveiled a new high-performance HTPC system, powered by some of the latest Intel processors on the market. The system is designed to provide the user with a high level of performance and multimedia-rich features inside a compact form factor.
Simply dubbed Kinetic HD, the system comes packed with most of the features you would be looking for in an HTPC.

The decision to go for Intel's latest Core i7 processors seems somewhat strange, especially since these systems are mainly focused on delivering a high-performance multimedia experience and aren't meant for processor-intensive applications. Still, since the launch of Intel's fastest computer processors to date, we have seen a number of different computer designs that take advantage of the computing power enabled by Intel's Nehalem-based Core i7. The new HTPC design from Kinetic just comes to complete the Core i7-based offering.

In addition to the high-end CPU, the system is also packed with a dual HD-DVD optical drive that also supports the new Blu-ray disc format for an excellent multimedia experience. Users will also take advantage of up to four TV tuners, 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless connectivity, a Creative X-Fi sound card and a Windows Vista operating system. There's no word on storage or price tag for that matter, but you shouldn't expect anything in the lines of affordable, especially since this thing is packed with Intel's high-end Core i7 processors.

Most HTPC systems on the market run on relatively mainstream performance hardware components, offering just enough juice to power all those multimedia rich applications. Kinetica upped the ante with the release of their new Kinetica HD HTPC by implementing the fastest consumer processor currently available on the market.
