Microsoft has just confirmed the arrival of both the Kinect for Windows SDK and the Kinect for Windows sensor in China.

Aside from many other updates, the SDK also comes with Windows 8 and virtual machine support, which means that developers can create Kinect for Windows solutions for Windows 8 desktop applications.

“Windows 8 compatibility and VM support now mean Kinect for Windows can be in more places, on more devices. We want our business customers to be able to build and deploy their solutions where they want, using the latest tools, operating systems, and programming languages available today,” Microsoft said in a blog post.

Kinect for Windows sensors will also be released in several other countries in the near future, including Hungary, Poland, Puerto Rico and Greece.
