Konami Digital Entertainment has announced Dance Masters, a new simulation title that will arrive exclusively on the Xbox 360 platform from Microsoft and will use the new Kinect motion tracking system, which does not use a physical controller.

Kinect can track movements of the entire body and Konami will use this ability to deliver a dancing experience that is as close as possible to the dance clubs one can visit in real life.

Players will need to watch the information offered by Dance Master and position their bodies to match screen markers.

The game will allow gamers to watch themselves in real time as they dance and even allows for two moves to be recorded and then used for the back up dancers.

Dance Masters also has social elements, allowing snapshots to be captured at any time during the dance routines, then saved into albums and shared with friends.

The Xbox Live service will allow gamers to join up with three other friends in multiplayer modes that challenge them individually and as a group.

The new game is set to have 30 songs including genres as varied as hip hop, techno, pop and rhythm & blues.

Konami says that there are three gameplay modes that gamers can try out, Dance, Lesson and Status.

Shinji Hirano, the president of Konami Digital Entertainment, stated when the announcement was mde, “As an expert in the rhythm-based genre with games such as the highly-successful DanceDanceRevolution franchise, it was a natural fit for Konami to utilize the new capabilities of Kinect for Xbox 360 and create the next generation of dancing video games.

He added, “DanceMasters is truly an interactive, full body dance game, providing gamers of all ages a heart-pumping experience filled with today’s hottest dance songs.”

Konami is interested in developing dance simulation titles for as many platforms as possible, recently also announcing a new Dance Dance Revolution for the Nintendo Wii.
