Order changes when it comes to those over 13 years old

A new survey from Nielsen shows that a quarter of children between the ages of 6 and 12 in the United Kingdom want to get a Nintendo 3DS home gaming consoles for Christmas, while those who are over 13 are more interested in getting the Kinect motion tracking system from Microsoft.

For the under 12 age group other picks for Christmas include 23 percent for Kinect, 17% who want the PlayStation 3, 16 percent who want the Xbox 360, 11% for the Wii and one percent less for the PSP and the Move.

Older kids are also interested in the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation 3, with 9 percent of them hoping to get one of those, the Xbox 360 standing at 8%, and the 3DS only managing to beat the PlayStation Portable by 5 to 3 percent.

Nielsen says that the survey was conducted on a sample of around 3,000 people,which represents the game playing population of the United Kingdom.
