You really have to check this out. Amazon has just introduced a revolutionary portable reader that allows its users to download media content wirelessly in less than a minute, as well as receive newspapers, magazines and blogs, automatically.

The portable device uses a high-resolution paper display that looks and reads just like a real paper, even in bright sunlight, as the makers claim. The best news ever is that more than 90.000 books are already available in the Kindle Store, including the 101 and 112 current New York Times best Sellers and New Releases, which are only 9.99 bucks. As for the cool kindle e-book reader, this is expected to hit the market with a price tag of about 399 bucks, on Amazon online web store.

Regarding the device, Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com Founder and CEO said: "We've been working on Kindle for more than three years. Our top design objective was for Kindle to disappear in your hands -- to get out of the way -- so you can enjoy your reading. We also wanted to go beyond the physical book. Kindle is wireless, so whether you're lying in bed or riding a train, you can think of a book, and have it in less than 60 seconds. No computer is needed -- you do your shopping directly from the device. We're excited to make Kindle available today."

The 'magic trick' it does is that the device actually doesn't need any PC or hot spot to suck up everything you need from the Amazon website. The Kindle requires no monthly wireless bills or commitments. The built-in screen display uses ink, just like the conventional books and newspapers, with the slight difference that it actually displays the ink particles electronically.

Reading from it should be easy as it reflects light like ordinary paper does and uses no back light whatsoever, eliminating the eyestrain and glare that often occur when dealing with some other electronic devices like PDAs and PC monitors. There is a standard layout keyboard that allows faster and easier searches.

As for its capabilities, Kindle supports wireless delivery of unprotected Microsoft(R) Word, HTML, TXT, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP files. It's amazing that at its less than 292 grams, is lighter than a typical paperback and fits easily in one hand. What's more? Its built-in memory can store more than 200 titles, as well as hundreds more via the optional SD memory card slot. No to mention the device has access to The New Oxford American Dictionary, which contains over 250.000 entries and definitions, so readers can easily look up the definitions of words while reading.

As to its battery longevity, customers can leave the Kindle wireless connectivity on and recharge approximately every other day, or turn wireless off and read for a week or more before recharging. Kindle does a fully recharge in only two hours. This is really going to be a pain in the a*s for the giant e-book readers out there! Ain't that so, Sony?

Oh, by the way, books are not dead."They just went digital!"
