Kindle OS X App Adds “Lion Gestures”

When Amazon says Kindle now has “Lion gestures” don’t be quick to imagine that the e-reading app now performs head rubbing and social licking. What the developers mean is that you can now pan and swipe pages with your fingers in OS X Lion, Apple’s 2011 Mac OS.

A new set of gestures in OS X 10.7 aka Lion, panning and swiping is now possible in the Amazon Kindle application on the Mac.

Version 1.10.3, updated earlier today, also includes support for Kindle Format 8 books (for richer formatting), improved support for larger libraries and books that have a large number of notes and highlights, as well as support for Japanese. The usual miscellaneous bug fixes are incorporated as well.

No roaring function enabled yet, nor should you expect it too soon. The free Kindle app is immediately available via the link below.
