After their specs, software and content available were compared to see who takes the 7-inch tablet crown, Amazon's Kindle Fire and the B&N Nook Tablet were now put to a different test to see which device can hold up better in a head-to-head drop test.

The winner, as you will find out by watching the video enclosed above, was the Nook Tablet since it managed to survive a face down drop from 4ft (1.21m) up.

According to those mad guys over from Gizmoslip who ran this comparison, the reason for the Nook Tablet's success seems to be the plastic edge that surrounds the screen and protects it from directly hitting the ground.

Sadly, the Kindle Fire doesn't come with such a protective bezel, so its screen shattered quite badly making it unusable even though the device still works.

While the Nook Tablet came out as the clear winner, it still has a few battle scars to show for itself which take the shape of a series of long cracks in the plastic case.
