The device must be rooted for this hack to work

If you feel that the Kindle Fire can do a lot better than the 20,000 plus or so applications available in the Amazon Appstore then you are not alone.

The intrepid hackers from the xda-developers community also felt the exact same way, so they started working on developing a hack that can provide the Kindle Fire with access to the Android Marketplace.

As usual, the hack is detailed in the XDA forums, but those looking to get access should know that rooting the Kindle Fire is required before installing the marketplace app.

Fortunately this process was also detailed, so there's nothing stopping you from unleashing the whole power of Amazon's tablet, although some basic knowledge about file systems and file permissions are definitely required.

With the Kindle Fire already rooted and the Nook Tablet app sideloading trick explained this definitely looks like a fun Christmas season for all you Android hackers out there.
