Earlier this week, we have reported that the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 finally started shipping in the US to those who pre-ordered it back in September.

But what about other territories? Amazon will certainly cover those as well, don’t worry. As it turns out, the Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX are landing in Australia, following the release of the Paperwhite eReader on the Southern continent.

For starters, the Kindle Fire HD is available for purchase at retailers like Dick Smith and Big W for AUD$189 / $176 / €131. As it often happens, the devices will cost a little bit more than their US counterparts.

Those with their eyes set on the Kindle Fire HDX will have to wait until November 26 for the 7-inch version, which will sell for AUD$329 / $306 / €228. The larger model will land in the country as late as December 10 for AUD$479 / $445 / €331.

On top of that, Amazon also launched the Aussie dedicated Kindle Store, which offers content from local authors and local publishers.
