A new update for the official Kindle app available in the Windows 8 Store reached the web today, bringing plenty of new features for adopters of Microsoft’s new operating system.

The updated app comes with dedicated options to search inside a book, but also with a redesigned home screen and in-book navigation. The Notes and Bookmarks menu have been improved too, while users are also provided with some new filters.

The live tile now displays the book you’re reading right on the Start screen, while bookmarking is even easier in this new version thanks to some unnamed improvements.

Kindle for Windows 8 2.0 can be installed on all versions of Microsoft’s new operating system, including the desktop flavor and the tablet-oriented Windows RT.
