Kimora Lee Simons is looking considerably slimmer these days and, though she will admit to dieting and working out to lose 30 pounds in a year, she says she always feels beautiful and attractive, no matter the size she’s at.

After giving birth two years ago (to a baby boy with actor Djimon Hounsou), Kimora took her time with losing weight, choosing to go about it the natural, un-rushed way, she tells the latest print issue of OK! Magazine (story via here).

Unlike other celebrities, she doesn’t feel such an immense pressure to always look perfect and she believes not being an actress has a lot to do with it.

This is also why she chose to take her time when it came to shedding the pregnancy weight and she only started dieting and working out more when Kenzo turned 1.

“I’m not bothered about it,” Kimora says of the excess weight. “I don’t live my life with that pressure. I’m a mother, a wife, a businesswoman. I’m not an actress, so I don’t have that life where I have to be on stage.”

“I have the TV show, I’m into production and I develop businesses. I don’t feel like I have to be a size 2. I’m beautiful. When I was pregnant, I was probably like a 10 1/2, but I don’t really know,” she adds.

She is now a size 6 but she stresses that she felt just as beautiful when she was heavier as she does now: it’s just a different type of “beautiful,” she would say.

Because she didn’t feel any pressure to lose weight rapidly, Kimora took the “easy” way to weight loss: cutting out bad foods and becoming increasingly more active.

This explains why it took her a year (which is what health experts recommend for new moms) to lose the pregnancy weight.

“I do very easy things. Running after a 1-year-old really will do it, and I have three kids. I do a little cardio every day, and it doesn’t have to be on a machine. I sometimes take a walk,” Kimora says.

“I try to do it for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. I stopped eating junk food, like chips and candy. It’s about timing, portion control and eating healthy foods that fill you up,” she adds.
