14 DAY TRIAL // We're not sure what to make of this, but the bottom line should be that money can buy you just about everything in this world. The sultry singer Lana Del Rey has been finally convinced by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to perform at their French wedding, albeit for a lot of money.
Lana first made history last year when she became the first female singer to turn down the social power couple when they asked her to perform at their engagement party back in October. She was supposed to do a live set but Lana turned them down for her special reasons.
Now the Mirror is reporting that Lana caved in and relented to play at their wedding on Saturday, for what has largely been called the Wedding on the Century. The 27-year-old singer is going to be flown out to Paris and she's going to sing for the happy couple and their exclusive guests at their French château, after which she is reportedly going to be given a six-figure sum for her trouble.
Just in case you're wondering, the total bill for the Kim and Kanye wedding is set to be in excess of 4 million dollars, so they're dishing a lot of that on Lana playing the affair. One of the songs that will definitely be blasting out of the speakers is going to be “Young and Beautiful,” as this one of the bride's favorite tunes.
The reasons for her preference are the fact that she thinks in her mind that it was written about her and also the fact that this is the song played by the brass band on the background at her surprise engagement proposal by Kanye West.
Last summer, the reality star was tweeting “I can’t get this Lana del Rey song out of my head! #youngandbeautiful,” which is why Kanye told the band to play the song when he got down on one knee.
Lana will be using her vocal talents to woo some pretty big names from the American social elite, which include Oprah, Serena Williams, Jay Z and Beyonce, as well as some international names such as Vogue editor Anna Wintour, designer Riccardo Tisci and Donatella Versace.
We're still waiting for confirmation on those rumors that placed the wedding in Florence, Italy, instead of the French palace that's not the Versailles, since they got shot down there. However, it was reported that Kim and Kanye took their guests on a tour of the famous palace today, to show them the sights and also probably get them in the right mood.
