With the release date for a brand new season of Kim Kardashian's reality show literally around the corner, a new report comes to suggest it might have had more to do with the demise of her marriage to Kris Humphries than we know.

Radar Online claims to have it on very good authority that it was playing back footage shot for the show that opened Kim's eyes to how big of a jerk Kris was being to her – and to her entire family.

Seeing and hearing him badmouth the entire Kardashian clan and, most importantly, seeing how he treated her, made Kim realize that he wasn't the man she thought she'd married.

The marriage was already under visible strain and playing back footage for the show was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

“[She was] absolutely mortified when she saw on camera, the way that Kris was treating her,” an unnamed spy says for the publication.

“The marriage was already under a tremendous amount of stress, but she just couldn't believe that she had married this man that was treating her and her family like this,” adds the insider.

Kim is not a producer on the show but she does have the final say into what is cut in the editing room and what makes it into the show.

Until she'd seen the footage, she would have never believed Kris was being so mean to her and her family.

“It was hard for Kim to watch all the footage, she has been unable to review it without bursting into tears. Making matters worse for Kim is that she is now isolated from her friends,” the insider adds.

Shortly after this happened, Kim decided she wanted out of the marriage. She didn't tell Kris or anyone from E! about her decision, Radar writes: she filed the divorce papers, fled to Australia and only afterwards issued a statement.

Now, she wants to make sure the reality show will offer a slanted perspective into the drama, forcing viewers to side with her.

“Kim didn't tell anyone at E! that she was going to file for divorce until the day she filed. Viewers will see the demise of Kim and Kris' marriage, but footage that is unflattering to Kim won't be shown,” says the same spy.
