Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Go as Mermaid and Sailor on Halloween

Precisely one year ago, Kim Kardashian was shocking the world when, after rocking a Halloween party in a Poison Ivy costume, she announced her divorce from Kris Humphries. This year, she hit the party circuit with the new man in her life, rapper Kanye West.

At the 2nd Annual Midori Green Halloween in NYC, Kim made quite a splash in a revealing mermaid costume, while her beau went as a sailor.

While it would have been hard to tell that Kanye was actually wearing a costume, there was no doubt about Kim’s.

Sporting a blonde wig, seashell top and a long, sequined, emerald skirt that almost literally ended in a fishtail, Kim did her best Daryl Hannah impersonation, while also showing plenty of cleavage.

The New York Daily News reports that the blonde wig alone cost $2,000 (€1,549) and was made of real hair, so one can only imagine the final price tag on the entire look.

Kanye did not walk the red carpet with Kim but, once inside the venue, he hardly let her go out of his sight, says the same media outlet.

“Kanye kept bragging to their friends how beautiful Kim looked and that he loved her being a blond,” an insider says for the NY Daily News.

For the record, voices in the blogosphere note that Kim should never consider going blonde because the color isn’t doing her any favors.

Another inside source says for the aforementioned e-zine that Kim is happy now and “in a much better place” than last year, when she was apparently having so much trouble coming to terms with the realization that her marriage would be beyond saving.

As for those engagement rumors (with Kanye, of course), the time’s not right now, because she’s still legally married.

“It would be a problem for everyone for her to get engaged while she’s still technically married to Kris. But [Kim and Kanye] have already talked about it, and Kim is in the driver’s seat on this one,” says the spy.

“Announcing her engagement to the public could depend on the filming of her reality show (‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’),” the insider adds.
