14 DAY TRIAL // Everything that Kim Kardashian touches these days turns into gold. Well, except for her marriage to Kanye West, which, according to reports, might already be down the gutter because he’s too controlling for her taste.
As insiders claim that she’s already considering getting a divorce because she wants to be free of Kanye, in the eventuality that this does happen, Kim will be thanking her attorneys for drawing up an iron-clad prenuptial contract – because she’s about to get filthy rich.
Last month, the curvaceous reality star launched her own iOS game, called “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood,” and it’s proven such a hit with audiences that industry estimates indicate it’s bound to make $200 million (€147.9 million) in its first year.
Clearly, Kim is not going to pocket all this money, but the amount that she will cash in will be several times more than what she made last year from all her other business endeavors, including her reality show, her fashion and accessories lines, and other endorsements.
TMZ reports that Kim’s deal for the game (which is free to download but costs money to get a better ranking at the end) sees her getting 45 percent of net profits.
“We're told the actual expenses associated with the business are relatively low. A straight 45% cut of $200 million [€147.9 million] totals a whopping $90 million [€66.5 million]. Industry sources tell TMZ expenses would not exceed $10 million [€7.39 million],” the report notes.
So, from this, Kim stands to make about $85 million (€62.8 million) before taxes and other fees; her mother / manager, Kris Jenner, for instance, gets 10 percent of any deal her daughters / clients sign, so Kim will also be paying her a large chunk of that money.
To put things into context a bit, TMZ cites Forbes magazine as saying that Kim made $28 million (€20.7 million) last year.
“Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” sees the player customize an avatar who receives tips and advice from Kim throughout the duration of the game. These should help the player advance in showbiz and basically make a career happen out of nothing.
Since Kim rose to international fame by leaking her own adult tape, she’s probably the best person to counsel wannabe celebrities into how to achieve fame without having any fame-worthy skill or talent.
However, in the game, she also provides players with fashion and beauty tips and encourages them with surprise appearances.
