For weeks now, Kim Kardashian has only been getting media attention because of the drama surrounding her failed, 72-day marriage to basketballer Kris Humphries. That could change soon, since she's now in Haiti for charity work.

Granted, it could be that her visit there is motivated solely by selfless purposes, but that's not how celebrity bloggers and former fans are choosing to interpret it.

Us Weekly, for one, says that Kim has been in Haiti for the past couple of days and is already helping out wherever she can.

Her aim is to raise awareness on several of the issues the disaster-afflicted country is dealing with, says the report.

“With Christmas just two weeks away, Kim Kardashian is giving back – in Haiti. A source close to the reality star, 31, confirms that she’s currently on the impoverished, earthquake-ravaged nation with mom Kris Jenner, designer Donna Karan and actresses Patricia Arquette and Maria Bello,” the celebrity publication informs.

“Prime Suspect star Bello, 44, is one of the co-founders of the organzation We Advance, which strives to 'advance the health, safety and well being of women throughout Haiti,' its website explains,” the e-zine adds.

“Working in 'some of the poorest slums in all of the Western Hemisphere,' We Advance reaches out to women in need, their family and community leaders,” Us further writes.

No word yet on how Kim might be lending a helping hand, but one might imagine her mere presence there should be enough to get attention for some of the most important causes.

While the socialite and reality star is keeping uncharacteristically mum about the visit to Haiti on Twitter, a source close to her claims she's having a very good time there.

“She’s been there for two days…She says it’s amazing!” says a spy, refusing to go on the record with his or her name.

Chances that Kim's visit to Haiti will be included in one of her many reality shows are slim to none: she's reportedly on a break from reality TV until early next year, when she'll go back to work again, having dealt with the painful divorce from Humphries.
