14 DAY TRIAL // With the many years she spent in the spotlight, Kim Kardashian is used to being hounded by the paparazzi and pretty much causing pandemonium whenever she steps outside, even if it’s to grab some ice cream or head on to the gym for a workout. Still, what happened some hours ago in Paris was a first even for her.
And we don’t mean that in a good way.
As Kim and rapper husband Kanye West arrived at the Balmain show during Fashion Week in the French capital and she got out of the car to enter the venue, of the almost 200 people who had gathered outside to see her and Kanye, one man emerged and tried to shove her and knock her down.
The “attacker” wasn’t a fan: it was known prankster Vitalii Sediuk
Video of the incident is available below. You can see the man shove Kim twice, as she leans on the door of the car before she finds refuge in the arms of one of her huge bodyguards. At one point, she seems to be yelling something in Kanye’s direction, presumably asking for his help.
Because they were surrounded by such a packed ground, it would have been impossible for him to come to her rescue even assuming their bodyguards had not acted on it and immobilized the “attacker.”
Speaking of, he is known prankster Vitalii Sediuk, an Ukrainian “journalist” / media personality who has made a reputation for himself in recent months by assaulting celebrities on the red carpet. No one seems to find his acts funny, least of all the celebrities he targets, but he keeps at it either way.
For some reason, he picked Kim for his latest stunt, and as you can see in the video, she wasn’t amused at all. Furious is a word that would better describe how she must have been feeling, and the same goes for her mother and manager Kris Jenner, who was also on the scene with her and Kanye.
Sediuk’s “pranks” are getting more violent, dangerous
Sediuk started off relatively innocently, by trying to kiss Will Smith on the mouth a few years back. He also crawled on the red carpet and tried to get under America Ferrera’s dress at the 2014 edition of the Cannes Film Festival, and before that, he “crotch-hugged” Bradley Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio at two separate events, also on the red carpet.
You’d think that celebrities of this caliber (we’re definitely talking A-listers here) would be more unapproachable than this, but Sediuk always finds a breach to exploit at events of this type.
Before he tackled Kim, he actually managed to get very close – too close for comfort – to Brad Pitt, at the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s Disney movie “Maleficent,” this year. He knocked off Pitt’s glasses and punched him, as the actor was giving autographs, which resulted in a restraining order against him and a ban from all Hollywood / red carpet events with Pitt and Jolie.
The bottom line is that he’s escalating. No one knows what he gets from this, other than free publicity that doesn’t really translate into a boost of profit. For all the media knows, he’s a persona non-grata in showbiz and no one wants to work with him in any capacity; even his attorney thinks he might be having mental issues because of the way he acts.
No word yet if Kim is considering pressing charges against him, but if she does, given his previous arrest for the Pitt “prank,” he could actually get some jail time.
