Kim Kardashian and the family are in legal trouble again: a group of New Yorkers is taking them to court for misleading them into buying QuickTrim, a weight loss supplement that can’t possibly help in any way with shedding the extra pounds, the lawsuit states.

Ever since 2009, Kim and Khloe have represented QuickTrim. They claimed to have started the program to lose weight, did so in 14 days and then managed to keep it off with the same product.

At one point, Kim was especially active promoting the program, constantly tweeting about it and posting photos of herself in swimsuits on her official page.

This misled people into buying QuickTrim, the lawsuit claims. The truth of the matter is that it can’t even promote weight loss, let alone maintain it, since its main ingredient is caffeine.

“The point of the suit – a bunch of people in NY claim there's no POSSIBLE way QuickTrim could've helped Kim, Khloe and Kourtney lose weight because the main ingredient is caffeine. According to the suit, ‘The FDA has determined [caffeine] is not a safe or effective treatment for weight control’,” TMZ reports.

In other words, the Kardashians lied.

Court documents mention $5 million (€3.78 million) as damages, an amount the Kardashians, QuickTrim and various venues selling it are supposed to pay.

“According to the suit, filed in NY by Bursor & Fisher, the Kardashians fed lies to the public through commercials, magazines and social media since 2009, like when Kim went on Twitter and said, ‘Our QuickTrim cleanse will be massive! Khloe has already lost so much weight’,” TMZ further reports.

“The plaintiffs claim they would NEVER have purchased the QuickTrim products if they would have known the truth and claim the Kardashian testimonials were completely unsubstantiated,” says the same media outlet.

As of this moment, the Kardashians are yet to comment in any way on the new lawsuit. However, it comes in a long line of accusations brought against the family – and Kim in particular –, all part of the backlash that started when she announced she would be divorcing Kris Humphries after just 72 days.
