A couple of months ago, Gabriel Aubry dated socialite and tabloid personality Kim Kardashian. It has now emerged that it was this brief romance that got Halle Berry so upset that she dragged Aubry to court for sole custody of daughter Nahla.
Gabriel and Kim only dated for
a couple of weeks, which could mean that it was nothing serious – but it was enough for them to get photographed together once to get Halle fuming mad.
People magazine reports that, when she saw pictures of Gabriel and Kim together, Halle flipped not because she was jealous and didn’t want him to move on, but because she thought this would impact negatively on Nahla.
In other words, she didn’t want her daughter spending time with someone like Kim Kardashian, someone whose entire life is being documented on camera.
“Halle was very upset. She was upset at the idea of someone like that being in her daughter’s life. She did not want a reality star in Nahla’s life. She was
very aggravated,” says a source close to the Oscar-winning actress.
“Halle couldn’t care less who Gabriel dates. She just didn’t want Nahla exposed to the cameras that are undoubtedly around a reality star,” another spy adds.
This is not the first time that this claim makes it into print, albeit, this time, it carried a bit more weight because it’s published in celebrity bible People magazine: back in December, InTouch Weekly ran the
exact same story.
Still, a source close to Gabriel insists that, even if things had worked out with Kim, he would have taken his time before introducing Nahla to her. The two never met, says the pal.
“Gabriel wanted to make sure he dated someone for six months before he introduced them to his daughter. There was never for a second a thought by Kim or Gabriel that Nahla would ever go near cameras,” explains the insider.
As we
