The announcement was made yesterday, via an interview Kim gave to People magazine – and, now, speculation is already running rampant on how much money the reality star stands to make from the upcoming event: the wedding.
The Kardashian clan is one the most successful families in showbiz right now: they have various reality shows, fashion lines, fragrances and other products that they made or endorse, and, because of all this, they can command hefty paychecks for each appearance.
Of course, the most famous of the bunch is Kim, the one who actually made everything possible for the rest of the family, presumably following in the footsteps of her former BFF Paris Hilton.
As such, one can easily imagine how much she’ll make off this new stage in her life: the engagement and the upcoming nuptials, as PopEater also notes.
Given Kim’s willingness to document every moment of her life and to reveal to the press even the most intimate detail about herself, one can expect an avalanche of interviews and specials in the coming weeks.
These, in turn, will translate into a fat check for the curvy socialite, now turned reality star and successful businesswoman.
“On the heels of Kim’s engagement news this morning, sources close to the family tell me TV execs are already talking how to spin Kim Kardashian’s impending wedding to Kris Humphries into yet another gold rush,” PopEater writes.
Of course, the obvious option would be a new reality show: one that would focus exclusively on the wedding preparations, the period leading up to the big event, the preparations and, of course, how Kris is dealing with the media attention that comes from dating a Kardashian.
The wedding in itself could turn into an immensely popular venture as well.
“Over at Forbes, Mark Pasetsky is already speculating about how much Kim’s wedding photos will sell for. His guess is at least $2 million for domestic rights to the photos. There is at least an additional $1 million to be made in international rights,” PopEater says.
“Then there are the sneakier income streams – wedding vendors will be willing to pay big bucks to be featured in the celebrity nuptials of the year,” the e-zine says.
Worst case scenario, Kim Kardashian will pocket at least $5 million in the coming months. If she plays her cards right, she can make upwards of $10 million, word online has it.
