There’s some drama stirring in the Kardashian paradise: with Kim Kardashian’s wedding literally around the corner, the reality star and her mom, Kris Jenner, can’t come to an understanding as to the amount of money that will be invested in the ceremony.

Word in the blogosphere has it that Kim and Kris Humphries will be getting married no later than August 20.

Apparently, the bride-to-be wants her nuptials to be the American version of Kate and William, and Charlene and Albert’s wedding, and she’s willing to spend the big bucks to see that it’s done.

In her own mind, Kim is a princess and she deserves the closest thing to a royal wedding, unnamed sources tell Gatecrasher.

Her mother, though, is more focused on the financial aspect. Of course, Kris too wants the best for Kim – and that includes getting the wedding she’s always dreamed of – but she’s also thinking about how to make money with it.

Because they’re pulling in different directions, they’re unable to reach a compromise.

“According to the source, Jenner is focusing on how the family can ‘monetize’ the milestone, while Kim just wants to make sure ‘it’s the most lavish event possible – no matter what it costs’,” Gategrasher writes.

Since Kim is willing to spend a fortune to get her very own “Royal Wedding 2.0” and her mother would rather they spent less on the big day in order to turn a profit, talks between the two have been getting pretty heated in recent days.

“Jenner is ‘very business-minded,’ says the source. The wedding is becoming ‘such a lavish extravaganza,’ says the insider, that Jenner ‘is worried that all the money that’s going to be made from the wedding [via the sale of photo rights and sponsorships] will have to go right back into it’,” the report further argues.

For the time being, the scales seem to be tipping in Kim’s favor. “Kim really does want it to be America’s version of the royal wedding,” adds the spy.
