Weddings are usually supposed to cost money but, in Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ case, it didn’t cost a thing. In fact, the newlyweds – with Kim in particular – made a fortune off it, The Hollywood Reporter informs.

Earlier reports had it that there was a decrease in interest in all things Kim Kardashian and that her wedding would not “sell” as she may have initially anticipated – because reality stars are in the habit of selling exclusive rights to private moments, as must be common knowledge.

Also then, it was said that People magazine was feeling sorry for forking up $300,000 for the engagement story (and photos of the ring) because the issue did not sell.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmation that, if anything, Kim remains the queen of all things media for the time being: she’s already made a fortune off her wedding.

People magazine, the e-zine informs, paid a whopping $1.5 million for wedding pictures, while E! Online also offered the bride a hefty paycheck to allow cameras into the fancy, all-star event that took place over the weekend.

All in all, when Kim and Kris drew the line at the end of the (wedding) day, they actually noticed that their now-joint bank account had more money in it than before.

“Exclusive photos of Kim Kardashian’s wedding to NBA player Kris Humphries were sold to People magazine for $1.5 million, according to insiders,” THR reports.

“Britain’s OK! magazine paid $100,000 for exclusive bridal shower coverage,” the e-zine adds.

However, this was just half of the money Kim and Kris made off their special day, the same publication informs, citing ongoing but unconfirmed reports in the US press.

“These high-priced deals, coupled with freebies bartered in exchange for promotion, make Kardashian one of the rare brides who will actually bring in more for her wedding than she paid for it,” THR notes.

“Saturday’s ceremony has been estimated to cost at least half a million dollars but those costs are offset by items such as a free, $20,000 Vera Wang gown and a lucrative deal with E! for the two-part Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event special,” adds the publication.
