While Kim Kardashian is in Australia, talking to the media there about the reason she decided to divorce Kris Humphries, her mother Kris Jenner is doing the same in the US, while also promoting her latest book.

As we also informed you yesterday, Mrs. Jenner, the mother and manager of all the Kardashian girls, claims neither the family nor Kim profited in any way from the eccentric wedding ceremony held in August.

The media might say that Kim and Kris made $17 million (€12.3 million) in profit from the lavish ceremony and that they didn't have to pay anything themselves, but that's a lie, Jenner said on Today, as the video below will confirm.

The problem with the tabloids, Kris explains, is that, once they put something in print, it becomes the truth – and is passed on as such.

The same happened to the Kardashian wedding and the alleged amount of money it generated in exclusive deals like endorsements, photo and video rights, and interviews.

“One of the rumors is that we sold the television rights for millions of dollars – not true. We profited, she profited from the wedding? Absolutely false,” Jenner said.

Whatever money was paid, Kim and her soon-to-be husband put in organizing the wedding.

“They made some money for the pictures that were sold and things like that, but at the end of the day, that money went towards the wedding and Kim had to pay a great deal of money (for the balance of the wedding). We don’t sell television rights,” Kim's mother explains.

She also says that other inaccurate reports in the media claimed Kim's engagement ring was worth a solid $2 million (€1.45 million), when its price tag was actually half this amount.

One last thing that Kim's mother clarifies: the wedding and, subsequently, the romance and marriage to Humphries, was not a sham, it was the real deal.

It just happened not to last.

“It certainly wasn’t for TV. We have enough going on on our show that we don’t have to make things up. She felt that she was in love with him. It was an amazing time… I had no idea there was a problem at the time. It saddens all of us,” she says.

Check out the video below to hear Kris Jenner explain the recent drama in Kim Kardashian's life.

As a side note, if you wish to see the fun side in all this, here is a calculator that tells you how long you've been married in Kardashians, a new measure of time.

It's really sad to hear that this marriage didn't work out. Out of all the Kardashian's Kim has always been my favorite. When she announced her wedding I and then it aired I was just in awh. Then Monday she releases the divorce and it breaks my heart as if she was part of my family. If, I had one chance to ask her one question, it would be; You said you had to follow your heart but isn't that what you do before the whole wedding. She said at one point that she truly loved Kris and he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with but now it's a different story. I guess I don't get it because it's like the whole was fake with her feelings. Watching the show it just seemed like they were truly happy and in love. I honestly believe that her family played a big roll in many of her decisions and I believe they have with this whole split. They can deny all they want but from what they share in their tv show viewers pick up things. Too bad they can't be totally honest with the viewers.
