Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries will reportedly be tying the knot in two months tops. If they are, they are keeping busy in the meantime with wedding preparations – and talking about a prenuptial contract, it has emerged.

Shortly after photos of the post-engagement party emerged online thanks to sister Khloe, word got out that Kim and Kris were busy meeting with attorneys and drawing up a prenup to protect the money they each have in case of a divorce, TMZ says.

And it’s a good thing they’ve thought about it, the e-zine underlines, because both of them have plenty of money and a divorce would simply be too messy without a prenup.

“Sources close to the couple tell us, both Kim and her NBA star hubby-to-be are telling friends, ‘It’s the smart thing to do.’ And, by the way, they’re right,” TMZ writes.

Admittedly, both Kim and Kris want to have a prenup in place before the wedding, so this isn’t just something Kim came up with to protect the fortune she made off her career in television.

“We’re told the move isn’t one-sided. Both Kim and Kris have tons of loot. Kim is worth a reported $35 mil,” TMZ writes.

“As for Kris, he’s not only making $3.2 mil a year with the Nets, his family also owns a couple of burger joints in Minnesota. Kris’ net worth is estimated at $8 million,” the e-zine says.

TMZ also argues that Kim is taking after her late father, Robert Kardashian, in how business-savvy she is. He also told her to have contracts for everything she does, and she believes he would have wanted her to get a prenup.

As of now, the newly-engaged couple is yet to announce a wedding date, but reports in the media say it’ll be in July or August at the latest.

Word also has it that it will be the celebrity event of the year, with Kim vying to outdo the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
