Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are rushing towards the aisle: the date for the wedding has been set for May 24, 2014 and the location has been chosen, somewhere in Paris. Right now, the two are busy meeting with lawyers to draw up a prenuptial contract that would protect them both in the eventuality of divorce.

Neither believes they will ever break up, insiders reveal for Radar Online, but seeing how they’re both rich (and getting richer) and bad things tend to happen, they would rather they’re over-cautious than not at all.

They are close to reaching an agreement on the clauses of the prenup and, apparently, Kim has drawn the longer straw because Kanye really doesn’t care about money where she’s concerned. In other words, Kim stands to make even more money by simply saying “I Do” in front of the altar.

For each year she stays married to Kanye, for a period of up to 10 years, she will be getting $1 million (€720,981) when (and if) their marriage falls apart and they get divorced. She also gets the Bel Air mansion they’re building right now, for which Kanye is paying.

Should their marriage not work, Kim will also get to keep all the presents and jewelry she receives from the rapper, which in itself should amount to a small fortune because Kanye is a very generous lover like that. He’s already showered her with very expensive presents, starting with her rehabbed wardrobe, which he replaced in its entirety.

More importantly, a special clause in the prenup says that whatever money Kim makes throughout their marriage, through her business ventures and reality show, she will get to keep because it’s considered separate property, only hers.

She is also named sole beneficiary of one of Kanye’s life insurance policies, estimated at $20 million (€14.4 million), even if they divorce.

“The entire process for the prenup for Kim and Kanye has been extremely easy, and relatively drama free. Kanye didn’t even think the couple needed a prenup, and was ready to give Kim carte blanche to all of his financial assets. Yes, he loves Kim that much. There is a huge difference from Kim’s prenup with Kris Humphries… the preparation of their agreement went on for several months,” an insider says.

“The couple is focused on the wedding and looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. Kim is head over heels in love with Kanye, and knows this is forever. Despite having been married twice before, Kim is treating this wedding as her one and only,” another source reveals for the same media outlet.

Admittedly, the prenup doesn’t include a clause for their daughter North.
