The reality star turns to the new “waist training” fad

At the beginning of the month, Kim Kardashian turned to social media to make a startling confession: she was fat and she knew it. And she was going to resort to drastic measures to lose those last couple of pounds bothering her. But no one knew just how drastic she planned to go. Until yesterday that is.

That was the day Kim posted a photo on her Instagram account which showed the socialite sporting an impossibly tiny waist. The photo was captioned “no Photoshop necessary” just to clean up all of the confusion for fans who would jump up to accusing of slimming her waist with the aid of computer software.

In fact, Kim was wearing a very tight corset while she was visiting a photo studio, presumably for a photographic session. The fact that Kim's face looked super thin, and almost doll-like is not going to be addressed here, although it is a tell-tale sign that the photo has been altered to make her look slimmer.

Reports from this week would have you believe that Kim has already lost several pounds by opting for a drastic, no-carbs diet, and she plans to lose the rest, which she blames on pregnancy, by use of this waist-training fad.

Kim seems to have fallen in love with the hourglass figure, and she's willing to go to extreme lengths to achieve it, even if it means staying tied up in a corset for the rest of the year. Also, Kim is playing it safe and in case the corsets don't work out for her, you can bet she's going to sell them off in her new fashion line, so that way, she can't lose.

The device you see her wearing, is not that expensive, just a couple of hundred dollars, and it promises to reduce your waist line several inches, and if you wear it “over a long period of time [it] can change your body shape.”

This is nothing new. Dita von Teese has actually managed to achieve world-wide fame with her tiny waist which she's sculpted by wearing corsets for a long time. It seems that Kim is bringing the fad back and creating her own image.

Friends are also praising her for getting slimmer, “She feels like she's reached her goal weight now. You can tell she slimmed down.” The thing is that she's focusing her attention on her waist, but at the beginning of August, she was complaining about her posterior and her hips being too big and needing to slim down.

We have disappointing news for Kim: reducing your waistline does only to increase attention on your derrière and hips, making them look even bigger.
