Kim Kardashian fulfilled one of her greatest wishes this weekend – to be featured on the cover of the fashion magazine Vogue, which is regarded as the most prestigious in the field and to which many fashionistas refer as their “Bible.”

The interesting thing is that not everyone was happy to see the reality star featured on the cover in a bridal dress and in the arms of her husband-to-be, Kanye West. In fact, the general effect was a negative one, with many people in the industry, including some celebrities, blasting the cover as being “lowbrow” and in poor taste.

You'd think that with such a harsh feedback, Kim would bury her nose in her pillow and cry until her May wedding day, but you'd be wrong. Us Weekly claims that, according to an insider, Kim “has wanted this for so long, she is beyond happy. She's ignoring all the negative backlash. She doesn't listen to what other people think.”

The reason why people got so enraged by the Kardashian sister appearing on the cover of the fashion magazine is that she isn't considered a role model in terms of clothing, despite what the general public (her included) might believe.

Many a time Kim was caught with a fashion faux-pas that has sent fashion designers and editors screaming in horror, so that's why it was believed that Kim's cover was more a result of Kanye's insistence with Vogue's Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, to feature her in the publication.

The rumors that Kanye was constantly putting Wintour up against the wall about the issue have been running since late last year, so when people laid eyes on the April issue cover, they immediately understood that Anna had finally relented.

The editor took to dismissing the rumors in the magazine, which kind of proves the entire story true, otherwise she wouldn't have bothered to address it.

“As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue's cover. He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn't true,” Wintour writes on the cover.

The cover immediately drew the attention of the press and spoofs featuring the Muppets or comedic couple James Franco and Seth Rogen popped up just hours after the original made its way online, proving that Keeping Up with the Kardashians has become an integral part of our modern society.
