Lindsay Lohan, Snooki and Octomom are hot on her heels in the same poll

If you get the feeling that Kim Kardashian is everywhere these days – and has been so for the past couple of years – it’s not just a feeling, this is really happening. A new survey commissioned by Forbes reveals that she is the most overexposed celebrity out there.

Then again, in her line of work, being overexposed is a prerequisite, the publication reports.

The survey, conducted by E-Poll Research of Encino, California, reveals the deep connection between a career in reality television and being overexposed in the press.

Once the latter decreases or stops altogether, as was the case of former paparazzi magnets Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, the former vanishes.

In other words, being overexposed is a must in order to have a career in reality television – and, for the time being, Kim is the most successful reality star of the lot.

“A decade ago being overexposed was the kiss of death. But today it’s necessary to fuel reality TV,” E-Poll CEO Gerry Philpott says.

Participants in the survey ranked Kim as the most overexposed celebrity by 65%, with the average overexposed rating being of just 5%.

“Reality stars like the Kardashians depend on overexposure to drive their business. They want to be in the spotlight constantly to get people to watch their shows and ultimately buy the products they endorse. In their case, overexposure is paying off,” Forbes notes.

Not the same can be said for Lindsay Lohan, who came second in the poll.

While she ranked 64% overexposed in the poll, her case is not a fortunate one for a very simple reason: she doesn’t want a career in television but rather to prove her worth as an actress.

This, Philpott says, is an unfortunate combination.

“If you want to be a serious movie actress maybe you don’t want high overexposed numbers, but if you’re going to be a successful reality star, you need those numbers,” he explains.

Nicole Polizzi, best known as Snooki from MTV’s Jersey Shore ranked third in the poll, with a 64% rank of overexposure.

She was followed by Nadya Suleman, aka Octomom, (62%), Paris Hilton (60%), Kate Gosselin (57%), Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (56%), Kourtney Kardashian (53%), Levi Johnston (51%) and Khloe Kardashian (51%).
