14 DAY TRIAL // It’s nearly that time of the year: with only days to go until the final month of 2012, it’s time to draw the line and take a look back. Bing has just released its annual charts of Most Searched… and, to the amazement of absolutely no one, Kim Kardashian tops several categories.
First things first: Kim Kardashian was the Most Searched Celebrity for the year that’s about to end, literally stealing the crown from last year’s winner, teen singing sensation Justin Bieber.
He comes up second though, so it’s not like people suddenly stopped paying attention to everything he does.
Third spot goes to another young star, Miley Cyrus. After parting ways with Disney, the star has been working hard to forge a solid acting career for herself. In the meantime, she also got engaged, so we might as well assume this too had something to do with increased interest from the public.
Rihanna is hot on her heels at number 4. What with trying to break into movies, recording to new music, starting controversies on Twitter and getting back together (allegedly) with Chris Brown, not a day goes by without her name making headlines.
Lindsay Lohan has also been making headlines throughout 2012 but, in her case, unlike the other celebrities, it wasn’t for professional accomplishments.
The legally troubled star was in and out of the courtroom, found excuses for herself in countless interviews and, just over the weekend, made her acting “comeback,” which was unfortunately trashed by critics and audiences alike.
The remaining five positions of Most Searched Celebrities for 2012 are occupied as follows: Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
