14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian might slap on a smile for the cameras whenever she's around them but she's hiding a terrible secret. She's addicted to pills, says a new report cited by Radar Online.
Though she has a reputation for staying clear of alcohol and drugs, Kim is reportedly an addict to pills. Her sister Khloe found out she's using again, and she's threatening Kim to expose her to the family.
Admittedly, Khloe was the first to see all the signs because she'd dealt with the problem before, when Kim started taking pills to help her cope with the heartbreak of splitting from Reggie Bush.
“She’s freaking everyone out right now. She’s taking Valium and sleeping pills. The last time she self-medicated was when she split from Reggie Bush [two years ago,] when everything felt impossible,” a source is quoted as saying.
“Khloe’s really freaked out by it: she found a bottle of pills and knew straight away what Kim was doing,” adds the insider.
Khloe is determined to get Kim back on track, making it very clear to her she has no intention to let her pursue this course of action. Either she gets clean, or she will have to.
“The insider – calling Khloe 'the queen of tough love' – said the wife of Lamar Odom has issued sister Kim a non-negotiable ultimatum: get clean in three weeks, or she’s telling both their mother Kris Jenner and Kim’s current beau, Kanye West,” Radar writes.
It also claims that Kim started popping pills again in the aftermath of her divorce announcement, when she saw fans rally against her, siding with her husband (ex now) of 72 days, Kris Humphries.
This pressure, coupled with her intense work schedule, eventually got to her – and she sought help in the wrong place, the report argues.
“It started with just a little bit to take the edge off or help her sleep, but she could become dependent upon pills, which worries her,” the insider says.
“I think she’s secretly pleased Khloe found out because she’d have struggled to stop on her own,” adds the same source.
Right now, Kim and her new beau, rapper Kanye West, are in Cannes for the Film Festival.
