Just weeks before Kim Kardashian sucker punched everybody, including husband Kris Humphries, by filing for divorce, she sat down for an interview with the December 2011 issue of Marie Claire. The mag is out now. The interview makes for a very interesting read for obvious reasons, the biggest being that it has Kim boasting about how perfect her marriage to Kris was and how she didn't want to wait to tie the knot because she was so in love.
Also interesting is the magazine's choice to go with the Kim editorial even knowing what we know today, namely that Kim wants out of the marriage and most likely staged it for television cameras.
Back to the interview, it is, if you will, the perfect example of how things can go wrong from evening to morning, considering how Kim gushes about her man.
“I’m not worried about him at all. We have a lot of trust, and I don’t think either of us would do anything to break that. It makes life so easy,” she says.
“He’s such a good guy; he is so down-to-earth, and it’s such a reality check. He is a normal guy, and I just want to chill out and be normal and not get glammed up all the time. He gets it,” Kim continues.
She also explains why she didn't want to wait more until she got married, especially since she'd already made the same mistake before, that of tying the knot with the wrong guys because she hurried things along.
“We felt like, ‘Why wait?’ It’s fun to have a partner who understands your life and lets you be you. Sometimes my life can be really intimidating for people, but he allows me to work and do what I’ve gotta do,” the reality star says.
Asked how much money she made off her and Kris' glitzy August wedding, Kim deflects the question saying she doesn't talk about money. She does, however, have a good explanation for why she chose to have such a special event televised.
“I felt like if I didn’t show the wedding, it would be upsetting for people who have taken this journey with me,” she says.
