Kim Kardashian really did have the most magical birthday party she could have ever asked for: when she thought she would be celebrating with friends and family turning 33, her rapper boyfriend Kanye West presented her with a huge diamond ring and asked her to marry him.

The romantic scene took place at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, which Kanye had rented out entirely, specifically for this purpose. He had also hired a 50-member orchestra and had arranged for the proposal to flash on the Jumbotron.

He’s definitely giving a new meaning to the expression “over the top,” isn’t he?

“Last night was truly magical!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world! I get to marry my best friend!” Kim gushes to E! News, in what is the first statement since the engagement.

The same media outlet has more details from inside the engagement party, and they confirm it was one that neither Kim and Kanye, nor their guests will forget too soon.

“After receiving Kris Jenner's blessing for Kim's hand in marriage, 'Ye got down on one knee and proposed to Kim with the gorgeous diamond ring by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. Aiding in his effort was the field's jumbo screen, which flashed the sign, ‘PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!’,” E! reports.

As for the songs the orchestra played, they included Kim’s favorites “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey, and “Knock You Down” by Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, and Kanye himself.

“Fireworks and Roman candles exploded into the night sky, and once the birthday girl said yes her friends and family ran out to the field from the dugout, adding yet another element of surprise,” the same media outlet reports.

After she said yes, they all partied until the early hours of morning – but not before everyone got to take pictures of the happy couple and their guests. Insiders say that there was not a dry eye in the house, and that all the ladies had mascara running down their cheeks.
