Kim Kardashian Gives 10% of Everything She Makes to Charity

Kim Kardashian is ranking in the big bucks as a reality star – but she’s also shelling out big bucks from what she makes to charity. The star made the revelation during a recent interview with Piers Morgan for his CNN show.

As the video below will also confirm, Kim believes in giving back. In fact, she’s of the opinion – because she’s been raised that way – that it’s her duty to give 10% of everything she makes every year to charity.

If this percentage seems too small, just think that in 2010, Kim made $6 million from endorsements deals alone. She also has a share of Dash sales, and her own product lines.

Every year, Kim gives away money to two major organizations: a charity and a church that her mother helped build. She believes she already gave away “millions.”

“Whatever it is, I give 10 per cent away to the church and that’s what I was taught. Every year. Absolutely,” Kim says.

“There’s a charity that I work with a lot that I donate money all the time – the Dream Foundation – and my mum has helped create a church, so we help fund that, it’s in Calabasas,” the reality star explained.

However, she doesn’t easily give away money to other charities, she adds, even though people constantly ask her to do precisely that.

“So many people ask us to donate money here and there and some things just don’t make sense to me, and I don’t feel connected or passionate about that certain thing. So when I find something it makes it so much more meaningful,” Kim explains.

Hollywood News reports that the church to which Kim is referring is one where her mother is actually listed as a partner. The LifeChange Community Church was started by Kris Jenner and Brad Johson.

Previously, Johnson was the leader of the Calvary Community Church in Westlake until 2007, when he was publicly discredited as stories of his infidelities emerged in the press. He also married Kim’s sister Khloe and Lamar Odom.
