When celebrities decide to go under the knife - or its slightly less invasive younger brother, the laser - they usually keep it under wraps and avoid going public with any information related to the kind of work they had done. Not Kim Kardashian, though. The reality TV star and socialite has turned her epic journey into the realms of laser cellulite treatment into a topic for one of the episodes of her TV show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", and has shared her experience with the world via her own personal blog. Apparently, Kim got tired of posing as a perfectly groomed celebrity whose flawless skin - thighs included - is "all-natural" and documented her trip to the American Laser Center, admitting that she sought a little help in her struggle against cellulite.

Kim admitted she considered getting the VelaShape cellulite reduction and body-shaping treatments when she decided to prepare a special one-year anniversary present for her boyfriend and pose for a calendar designed exclusively for him. "You have got to read about it! It is basically a non-surgical device that massages the needed area and stimulates the blood circulation so that it minimizes cellulite. I only had time for one treatment, but I am definitely planning to go back for more!" Kim writes. The creators of this FDA approved treatment explain that VelaShape uses Bi-Polar Radio Frequency and Infrared Light, with added "tissue mobilization combined with suction, so that the appearance of cellulite is reduced and problem areas are re-contoured".

Kim is definitely right to express her enthusiasm with the VelaShape laser treatment, seeing that its producers are marketing it as an alternative invasive cosmetic procedure such as liposuction. It also boasts reduced treatment time (30 minutes for thighs, 20 minutes for abdomen) and visible results after as few as four treatments, with "up to 7 cm reduction in thigh circumference". "The non-invasive VelaShape treatment at American Laser Center is a celebrity favorite, as it helps take inches off while achieving significant smoothing and improved skin texture. The Kardashian girls were so happy with the results they continue to visit American Laser Centers", reads a statement from the VelaShape company.
