14 DAY TRIAL // Today, Kim Kardashian will drive the final nail into her marriage to Kris Humphries, by filing for divorce. The marriage – or PR stunt, depending on who you ask – lasted only 72 days.
TMZ breaks the story, saying that all those reports making the rounds for a couple of weeks now have a grain of truth to them: Kim and Kris are talking divorce.
Moreover, says the e-zine, they never really gotten along, despite the facade they put up for the cameras on her reality show or in front of the paparazzi.
“Kim Kardashian will file for divorce this morning, after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss to Kris Humphries, TMZ has learned,” the e-zine writes.
In the documents, Kim will be asking for a quick way out of the marriage, keeping all the details of why it failed to herself.
“We're told even though the marriage was short, she will not seek an annulment. It's a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites 'irreconcilable differences',” TMZ writes.
“We're told the date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011,” says the e-zine.
Over the weekend, Kim hit the Halloween party circuit without Kris, which set tongues wagging again about how there was trouble in paradise.
“Kim has hired disso-queen Laura Wasser, who has repped the likes of Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, and Robyn Gibson, Mel's almost ex-wife,” TMZ further writes.
Of course, Kim doesn't need such a high power attorney, since she made sure she and Kris has a bullet-proof prenup signed long before they even started making wedding plans.
Given that earlier reports were saying Kim, the Kardashian clan and E! Producers shopped around town for a man to go out with her – who could potentially become her husband – it's no wonder people are already talking about how the marriage was nothing but a farce, i.e. an elaborate PR stunt.
