14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian is not exactly the best of friends with members and supporters of animal rights organization PETA. She's even had flour dumped on her head by these defenders of cats and bunnies who loathe and despise her fashion choices.
This week, yet another conflict ensued between them. The thing is that, this time, the row wasn't about something that Kim Kardashian pulled out of her closet and wore in public. It was about an outfit that Kim chose for her daughter, young North West.
The outfit that reignited PETA's rage
Earlier this week, on Wednesday afternoon, Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West were spotted returning home after having attended father Kanye West's New York fashion show with Adidas.
34-year-old Kim was wearing a corset top, a pencil skirt and a fur-collared black coat. Like her, Young North West was wearing a not-so-animal-friendly outfit. More precisely, she was rocking a coat made entirely of fur.
Word has it that the fur coat that North West was photographed in this past Wednesday cost $3,500 (about €3,100). If this is true, it's no wonder Kim always held her daughter by her side, just to make sure that she would not fall and ruin her outfit.
Then again, maybe she was just being a good mother. Unlike that one time when she cropped baby daughter North West out of a selfie she later posted on Instagram for reasons that will probably remain a mystery forever and for always. Vanity, perhaps?
PETA's reaction to North West's fur coat
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk insists that, since all kids simply love and adore animals, there is no way young North West would have agreed to wear that fur coat, had she known where it came from and had she been old enough to choose her own outfits.
Hence, if there is anyone to blame for this display of cruelty towards animals, that person is her world famous mother, Kim. In an interview, PETA President Ingrid Newkirk even went as far as to poke fun at the media personality and the poor fashion choice she made when dressing North West in fur.
“When God gave Kim a big bottom, he had to take something from the top,” she said, as cited by Daily Caller. Furthermore, “If the fur coat that she’s been dressed in is real, animals have suffered for vanity, something that we’re sure neither North nor any little girl her age would support.”
Kim Kardashian is yet to respond to this latest PETA rant targeting her and her daughter. Seeing how being criticized by this animal rights organization is not exactly new to her, she might just let this one slide and remain silent.
