Killzone: Shadow Fall has received a brand new patch, in the form of update 1.5, which brings a suite of major improvements to the clan system, as well as plenty of other enhancements, tweaks, and new features aimed specifically at the multiplayer mode.

Killzone: Shadow Fall launched right alongside the PS4 console last year, delivering an impressive first-person shooter experience that managed to include a thrilling single-player story campaign as well an intense multiplayer mode.

The online experience was enhanced by developer Guerrilla Games through plenty of different updates, but also through free and premium DLC, ranging from new maps, to the new Intercept cooperative game mode, and more.

Now, a fresh patch has just been rolled out by the studio on the PS4 platform, in the form of update 1.5. Quite a lot of improvements are included, starting with the second evolution of the clan system.

According to Guerrilla, the clan mechanic now includes specific clan vs. clan encounters in warzones, as well as a leaderboard for them and much more.

"The second phase of the Clan System rollout introduces Clan Warzones, Clan Matches and Clan Leaderboards. From the new ‘Clan’ tab in the multiplayer menu, players can join Clan Warzones and play against random or specific clans," the studio explained on its blog.

A problem with the aforementioned leaderboard has been detected by Guerrilla but the studio hopes to rectify it in the shortest time possible.

"Please note that we just discovered a bug in the Clan Leaderboards where incorrect wins and losses were being recorded for certain matches. We’re rolling out a server-side fix for the problem today and will correct the win/loss results for all clans later this week. The scoreboard may still display the wrong name for the opposing clan on occasion - this will be corrected in an upcoming patch."

Besides the new clan system, lots of other things are included in Killzone: Shadow Fall patch 1.5, such as a multiplayer ranking system, which is represented by a title attached to a player's name. At the end of each round, players can see what they need to achieve to progress to the next rank.

The Intercept cooperative experience has received two new game modes, in the form of a 2-player game type and a special extra hard one called Overkill. Both can be accessed from the redesigned co-op menu, alongside the Training Ground warzone.

Different other tweaks and fixes are also included in Killzone: Shadow Fall patch 1.5. The update will be automatically downloaded the next time you start the game and are connected to the internet.
