The development team at Guerrilla Games announces that it is working on four updates for Killzone: Mercenary, its video game for the PlayStation Vita, which are designed to improve certain aspects of the game and deliver more content.

The company explains on the official blog that they plan to launch Update 3 in the next few weeks in order to free space and eliminate about 800 MB of the files installed by the first two patches for the shooter.

Guerrilla Games states, "Update 4 is due in January and is being designed to improve Matching and to help reduce join-game connectivity problems, as well as adding an auto team-rebalancing feature."

Update 5 is important because it will add two new multiplayer maps to Killzone: Mercenary for free while also delivering the new Botzone feature that will be used during offline matches that use both Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes.

The studio adds, "Also in the first few months of 2014 will be Update 6, in which we’re working towards continued refinements and adding support for playing Killzone Mercenary on Vita TV."

Guerrilla Games is encouraging the players who are playing Killzone: Mercenary to offer feedback on the official forums in order to help the team create a better gameplay experience in the long term, eliminating any obvious bus and making the multiplayer better balanced.

Mercenary is a spin-off that uses unique mechanics focused on the profit that can be derived from warfare.

The big Killzone releases of the past month is Shadow Fall, the PlayStation 4 launch title which is designed to show off the hardware power of the new Sony home console.

Guerrilla Games also has long term plans for it and wants to make it a rival for other first person shooter series by adding content and delivering constant balance updates.
