Guerrilla Games, the studio responsible for the hit Killzone first-person shooter series, has confirmed that the planned re-release of the first Killzone 1 is now delayed indefinitely.

Sony has made a habit of remastering some of its classic PlayStation 2 in high definition for its current PlayStation 3. Thanks to this effort, we’ve seen plenty of PS2 game collections arrive on the current Sony device.

Sadly, it seems that PS3 owners will be missing out on one of the most popular PS2 games, as Killzone 1, which was announced to re-appear on the new console, is now delayed indefinitely.

The announcement came via the Twitter page of developer Guerrilla Games, which said that Sony has taken the decision to indefinitely delay the first-person shooter. No other details were given, so who knows what’s going to happen with the project.

The re-release was supposed to happen late last month and quite a lot of Killzone fans were eagerly awaiting it.
