Tripwire has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming zombie-flavored shooter, the sequel to the 2009 instant classic Killing Floor 2.

The fast-paced cooperative shooter saw the light of day as an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod, before the team decided to make it a stand-alone game.

The game's core gameplay will remain the same: kill monsters, make some cash, get better guns, kill more monsters. Apart from staying true to what consecrated the first Killing Floor, the developers intend to offer a much, much more impressive visual experience.

Tripwire has revealed that this was the first time they had the budget to realize their every desire, with everything in the game being motion-captured, from shooting to melee, in both first- and third-person perspectives.

Additionally, the game's dismemberment system will be the most advanced in any game yet, the models featuring 19 joints to hack and slash at.

The teaser video doesn't show any gameplay footage, unfortunately, but it sets the mood for the upcoming game by introducing a fictional human augmentation firm, called Orzine Biotech, and the innocuous presentation of its technical feats quickly turns heavy metal, foreshadowing that something sick is coming our way.

Killing Floor 2 still has to receive an official release date, but Tripwire has mentioned that the game will hit Steam Early Access on PC and Steam OS pretty soon.
