Killer Instinct is getting a new character added to its roster on April 9, marking the last time Double Helix gets to play around with the game before Iron Galaxy Studios takes over the development process.

Killer Instinct was definitely one of Xbox One's stronger launch titles, especially since it's offered as a free-to-play game on the next-gen console and it's a solid fighting game that's been masterfully re-imagined since the Genesis days.

Original developer Double Helix was bought by Amazon earlier this year, and Microsoft wasted no time and appointed Iron Galaxy Studios, makers of Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike Online Edition to take over the game, so it's hopefully in good hands.

Wanting to have players be Fulgore experts since day one, Microsoft has readily put together a livestream offering for their fans, showing all of his moves in a series of bouts.

Fulgore is dramatically different from the other seven characters in the game so far, because of the fact that he does not have a normal meter, but instead a reactor gauge that replaces how bar is used with him, as players have to manually acquire energy through several different means such as self-charge and triple doubles.

This makes Fulgore a bit more challenging, as players have to manage his gauge in order to build up his meter, finding areas where it's safe to charge and taking risks trying to land hits on the enemy.
