Thunder is a hyper aggressive tomahawk-wielding force of nature

Double Helix's reboot of the old combo-based fighting game Killer Instinct gets the tomahawk-wielding Thunder as a freely playable character.

The Native American fighter comes as a replacement to Sabrewulf, who in turn came as a replacement to Jago earlier this month. Previously known as Chief Thunder, the warrior still uses his tomahawks to great effect, and has been designed to be a hyper-aggressive brawler.

The move comes as part of the planned fighter rotation program for Killer Instinct. Double Helix is apparently trying to keep things fresh for free players, as well as to give them a taste of other fighters that they might have been on the fence about buying.

Killer Instinct was part of the Xbox One launch line-up, and the brawler remains an Xbox One exclusive title, being free-to-play, in the sense that players will always have one free character to play with, with the option to purchase more fighters either separately or in bundles.
