OK, I realize that this is just a trailer and that, in many cases, movies disappoint and all that's left after they open in theaters is only that feeling the trailer conveyed to you. But, again, 'Transformers' was long expected and Bay is known for his work so it's safe to say that this flick promises... a lot!
The teaser trailer made his way to Yahoo! Movies and, although both its director and executive producer (Steven Spielberg) asked the fans to bear a bit more and to wait until they can catch a glimpse of it in theaters, no such thing happened. I mean, God, people have waited enough for this to wait some more!
'Transformers', for those who still don't know what it deals with, is about an intergalactic war between two types of robots (Autobots and Decepticons) that have the ability to change 'into different modes of transportation including cars, trucks and airplanes'. It stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Megan Fox and Tyrese Gibson but I doubt these stars are the reason for which sci-fi fans will pack cinemas once it premieres on Independence Day weekend 2007.
The point is that the trailer is absolutely wonderful. Bay goes for less music (it almost lacks completely), bits and pieces of superposed dialog and lots of short frames of the robots. As a matter of fact, the whole trailer is made of bits and pieces, all put together and creating a certain feeling that surely sticks with you for some time after you're done watching it.
Just to set the record straight, if you're no fan of action/sci-fi flicks, you'd better take a pass on this one. But if you're even remotely interested in special effects, you wouldn't want to miss 'Transformers', trust me. Just
