Kidz Gear Apple Wired Headphones for Kids should already be available

Headphones come in many shapes, sizes and audio capabilities, but few of them can truly claim to be suitable for children, so Kidz Gear decided it may as well make its mark in this area.

The product that Kidz Gear put together is quite specific in its targeted customer base, both due to product compatibility and feature set.

Not only is it designed for Apple devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad), but it also aims at a particular segment of the populace, namely children.

Basically, Kidz Gear launched the Apple Wired Headphones for Kids, which has a maximum volume level of 80dB to 90dB.

That way, parents can be sure that their children's ears aren't going to suffer from being bombarded with overly high sound vibrations.

“Clearly, one of the largest growing groups of users of our Kidz Gear headphones have been children using their iPods, iPhones and iPads,” says Laurie Peterson, founder, Kidz Gear.

“By adding these Apple-specific features, children are sure to get a more enjoyable and safe listening experience from their Apple products.”

The feature behind the limitation to volume is called “KidzControl” Volume Limiting Technology.

As for the rest, the headphones are ergonomically designed with soft padded child-sized earcups, high-quality audio components and an inline microphone.

Speaking of the microphone, it can be used for recording audio or issuing voice commands to an iPhone SIRI personal assistant, not to mention answering phone calls or talking through an Internet phone (via Skype or whatnot).

Finally, the product is bundled with a Remote control, for Track Up, Track Down and other, convenient commands.

Apple should already have the Kidz Gear Apple Wired Headphones for Kids up for sale here, for $29.95 / 22.85 Euro. Right now, though (at the time of this article's writing, as it were), the store is down, being updated.
