A new survey coming from the UK shows that kids, and parents as well, are really into gadgets and new technologies, instead of the plain old toys, as their Christmas wish lists are topped by gadgets from Apple, as well as the new Kinect and PlayStation Move peripherals for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, respectively.

The winter holiday season is almost upon us, so many people are drawing up their wish lists and researching all of the new things that have appeared on the market, in order to see what they can or can't get.

Every year battery maker Duracell publishes its Toy Report, a survey of over 2,000 kids and parents about what they want to purchase this winter holiday season.

This year the report shows some very interesting trends, with many people opting to get gadgets from Apple, including the new iPhone 4 and iPad, as well as the iPod Touch, all of them counting for a combined 39 percent of all choices.

Surprisingly, it seems that the new peripherals for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the PlayStation Move and Kinect, are also among the top ten.

6 percent of young people want to get a Kinect, while the PlayStation Move only captured the attention of 4 percent of the UK demographic.

The rest of the top ten does have a few regular toys in it, but also a video game, specifically LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4, which appeared this summer on the market for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PSP and Nintendo DS.

Check out the full survey top ten below.

1. iPhone 4 (14%) 2. iPod touch (13%) 3. iPad (12%) 4. Kinect for Xbox (6%) 5. Zhu Zhu Pet Hamsters / Kung Zhu Hamsters (5%) 6. Flip Video Camera (4%) 7. Toy Story 3 Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear (4%) 8. PlayStation Move (4%) 9. LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 Video Game (3%) 10. Barbie Video Girl (3%)
