It seems that the regular end-users aren't the only ones getting a new product offer for Christmas, as even children will be able to acquire what is known as the PeeWee Pivot 2.0, a new netbook made specifically for them.

Basically, PeeWee PC developed an entry-level mobile computer which, in addition to hardware on par with that of any other netbook, has a set of software applications already loaded onto it.

Hardware-wise, it is a 10.1-inch laptop with a configuration centered around the Intel Atom N450, which has a frequency of 1.66 GHz.

This CPU is backed up by 1 GB of RAM and paired with integrated graphics and a hard disk drive whose internal storage capacity is of 160 GB.

Furthermore, the display has a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels or 1,366 x 768 pixels.

There is also the complete range of connectivity and I/O options, the list including 10/100 LAN, Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a 2-in-1 card reader and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

All of this hardware is kept operational by a 6-cell battery and is complemented by a spill resistant keyboard, so as to make sure the netbook can survive the most common accidents that happen around children.

As for the software side of things, PeeWee PC threw in a pair of security suites, as well as 15 pre-loaded educational games, and these come in addition to the OS.

Basically, the newcomer runs on the Windows XP Home Edition.

Other features include a rotating mechanism at the base of the touchscreen, enabling the PC to switch from a keyboard-equipped laptop to a tablet form factor.

Finally, the company put in a removable carrying handle, so that transportation is never an issue.

Any and all information on the PeeWee PC Pivot 2.0 has already been added to its maker's official website, where the price of $599 is also listed.
