Hyped up by #bendgate, two British kids visit an Apple store to intentionally damage iPhone 6 Plus units on display

Two Johnny-come-lately Brits decided to go viral – probably to get the girls at school to actually notice them – by filming a trip to the Apple store where they deliberately bent some iPhone 6 units to prove that the #bendgate rumor is true.

Regardless of how true or false the rumors are, these kids’ actions speak for themselves. But we can’t leave this page empty, so by all means we will help embarrass them even more. After all, they deserve it.

Psst, don’t tell anyone

The boys can be heard saying they were actually being careful not to get caught during their act of vandalism, but they somehow missed the fact that everyone on the Internet could see their faces. They also went and published their social networking handles, their third act of wisdom.

As you can imagine, soon after publishing the clip they got cold feet (probably after seeing this post on Reddit) and decided to pull it. But the video is being copied and shared all over the place, so it’s quite likely that the duo will eventually have to pay for their wrongdoings.

They can also be heard admitting (and giggling about it) that what they did was a crime, but then again that it isn’t, because the iPhone 6 bends and the world needs to know. Yes guys, we’re glad you took it upon yourselves to be the vigilantes this world needs to open the public’s eyes [applause]. May your parents pay thousands of dollars in fines, and may your weekends turn into solitary confinement to your quarters. We still think there’s hope for you.

#Bendgate getting ridiculous

We’ve been trying really hard not to take sides in this PR nightmare that Apple is facing, but it’s nearly impossible to trust these deliberate attempts to make the iPhone 6 look bad.

In all fairness, the kid could barely get the thing to flex a little. Going by his appearance, he’s old enough to knock you out with a punch, and we can all agree he seems to be getting all his meals.

And as we noted on numerous occasions, it’s one thing to try and destroy a phone, it’s another thing to damage it unintentionally during normal usage. So far, none of the #bendgate videos has been able to prove that normal use can lead to the warping of the phone’s aluminum enclosure. We’re not defending Apple or the iPhone 6 in any way, but it seems everyone is trying a bit too hard to bend these things on camera.

Update: Cudy (the one talking the most in the video) has issued a public apology for his and his friend's actions. Full story here.
