Kids’ Choice Awards 2011: Celebrities Get Slimed

At the Kids’ Choice Awards 2011, a slew of celebrities got slimed, as it happens every year at this particular awards show. Of the lot, British comedian Russell Brand seemed to be the only one not to be in on the joke.

One of the surprises of the night came when Johnny Depp, winner of Favorite Movie Actor for his role in “Alice in Wonderland,” showed up on stage with a hose and proceeded to sliming members of the audience.

Of course, that’s not to say it wasn’t just as fun to watch celebrities get their fair share of the green goo, with which they were showered abundantly, as Contact Music reports.

Josh Duhamel was among the first to get slimed, after he was indicted in the Arm Fart Hall of Fame and, of course, after he rocked the orange carpet in an outfit taken straight of Justin Bieber’s wardrobe, purple bowtie and sunglasses included.

“Russell Brand, Jim Carrey, Jack Black, Snoop Dogg, Heidi Klum and Josh Duhamel went green at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday – they got slimed,” Contact Music reports.

“Host Black, Klum, Carrey, Snoop Dogg and the night’s Arm Fart Hall of Fame inductee Duhamel, who dressed up as Justin Bieber for his sliming, were all prepared for the messy ‘honor’ but Brand was caught out when he stepped onstage to present the award for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie to birthday boy Eddie Murphy,” the e-zine further says.

While Snoop maintained his gangsta pose even as slime was being poured on him, Brand couldn’t help tell audiences he wished they’d been drowned by Depp with the hose earlier in the night.

“This is not in the script. You are all going to juvenile hall. You children are going to prison; you are bad children. Johnny, I wish you’d drowned them,” he joked.

“Carrey closed the show by pretending to float into the event in a balloon – and ended up getting slimed. He then sprayed goo all over Black,” Contact Music further says.
